Theme: Life is full of fantastic little things

A person who is important to  me

Writing : I am learning to write a piece of prose-  a sketch with detailed words, about a particular PERSON , that is very important to me

I know I have achieved this when I can describe this sketch of this person,in specific detail. To do this I need to:

• Use specific nouns
• Activate the nouns with strong verbs

My friend Elijah

Young, with brown and green eyes, those that blink regularly

He has a small nose and a big head with long shaggy hair that has a golden tinge.

His yellow teeth (like -REALLY  yellow) - illuminate the inside of his mouth. He also has freckles that look like they're popping out of nowhere.

His mouth and tongue are odd because his tongue covers half of the inside of his mouth and his lips look a bit bigger then they should be for his size.

He is funny, much better than a clown who attempts to do great jokes.

My friend enjoys trying new things,

My brother from another mother runs fast , so hard, that it can be tricky to keep up with him at times

can do things that I can’t do…

Once

today we had to do a 100 WC about or book we are reading.
This is the first three chapter about Felix which is the main person in the book called Once which is pretty good but is sad at times but still I enjoyed it so far and I hope you do as well.

Once    

In this story Felix the main person is at an orphanage waiting for his mum and dad to come and get him and take him home , but before that he has to watch out for team called The torture squad there is about four of them which they peck on the new kids that come.

He is in his room and then hears a car coming up the road so he thinks it is his mom and dad but it was someone who does not like and their called Nazi that came to destroy the

Jewish books for some reason.

Holidays

This morning , wrote five basic sentences about are holiday. We looked at the a range of different connectives that will improve our writing-A connective is a word that joins simple sentences, e.g. such as , never the less , in sprite of , but etc. Next, we spent time improving , out 5 basic sentences by using connectives.

How many connectives do you use a day?

Next step for me is to try level four connectives like despite and whilst.

 Holidays

My dog Nala is having 8 puppies but two died so now we have two girls and four boys.I went to Nana and Grandads because I had to have a day off of wood work. When I woke up my sister told me my little brother caleb was getting his teeth pulled out.Also I played online on my Xbox 360 as well as playing with my friends.For most of the holidays I did the wood such as getting the in wood shed,  putting in next to the door , taking it inside to the boxes and then doing it all from the start.

First Aid

After our session with Felicia from St John's in Schools we realised we had learnt a lot. We thought...how can we share what we have learnt? So we brainstormed lots of ideas...from making movies to presentations to art projects. Eventually we split into groups and decided what we want to create.

My group was Elijah and Blake and we decided to create a imove to share our learning.

This is my positize digital dig that I have been doing for the past weeks at school.
We did this to learn how to be digital learners and also learn to use a chrome book better.

Novel Study: Project Huia

This term we have completely finished our Novel Study. My book was called 'Project Huia' and it's quite a favourite of mine. I hope you enjoy looking at my activities!

This weeks prompt was now what do I need. I was focusing changing the opening of a sentence and using level four punctuation.

Bringg Bringg.

“Hello?”

“This is the captain speaking.”

“Sir what do you need me to do?”

“Suddenly the flood has got worse, so you need to be ready for an immediate evacuation.”

“Ok, yes sir.”

Ok got my suit, my rope, my head set - now what do I need? My radio.

10 minutes later, I sprint up the stairs to the chopper on the tippy top of the tallest building; let's go! 2 hours later I get to the top. Now let's get ready. The engine is running, the blades are spinning and I’m flying at the speed of sound...
